  • Reasons Why You MUST Eat Enough Calories!

My friend is definitely NOT eating enough calories per day.I can’t even do a single thing about it. I keep trying to tell her it’s not enough, but she won’t listen.

So I’ve compiled 10 reasons why you must eat 1200 calories at the least a day. This is for her and for you if you aren’t eating enough calories.

  • Facebook status updates

I don’t know what it is about my generation, but we have a warped sense of duty to let hundreds of people know our business. There are hundreds of types of Facebook users that update that statuses in embarrassing fashion.

  • The Power of NO

There is a facebook page called IF I SPOKEN TO MY PARENTS HOW KIDS TALK NOW DAYS I`D BEEN KNOCKED OUT[sic]. Several of my friends have joined, and I’ll tell ya, this is a big issue for me.  Now, I don’t promote the old adage “Children should be seen and not heard,” but I definitely believe children need to learn to respect grownups.  This isn’t about adult power-tripping, it is about basic safety and respect for others.

All too often at the grocery store or the mall, I see kids running out into the parking lot unfettered, kids that hit their parents in a tantrum, kids that scream for attention when their grownup is talking to another grownup.  And you know who is power-tripping?

  • Is the BMI Chart Serious!?

So I just looked at a BMI chart because this post made me think of it.

The heaviest I can be and be healthy is 153 and I could go as low as 121 and still be healthy according to the charts. Are you $%@#$%* kidding me?

  • Why I Write/Blog

When I was younger I wasn’t good at reading, or writing. What really improved my writing and reading was coming online, chatting with people and reading about different things that interested me. I really started to write a lot between 12 and 13. I found that I really liked it, I enjoyed it and I could write whatever I wanted, I could express my feelings without getting in trouble with my parents. Growing up I could never talk with my parents, I could never say my opinions about anything, or express my feelings. I was often told I was wrong, or get in trouble for nothing. I closed up after that began happening and my only outlet was writing.

  • dear the people i went to high school with who now have kids

for the love of all things holy, please understand this:

    i.  do.  not.  want.  to.  see.  baby.  pictures.

that’s the only thing worse than if you’re actually toting the baby along with you and you introduce me to the child–forcing me to make small talk in ridiculous voices with an infant who can’t tell a cat from a shoe.  by showing me the picture(s) of your vile spawn, i’m forced to do the one thing more personally revolting–make small talk with you.  about your infant.  who can’t tell a cat from a shoe.  but, God love him/her/it, he/she/it practically never cries. oh!  except when it’s feeding time.  which is all the time for an infant–i’ve taken care of babies before.  you’re not fooling me.

  • College Students are Literally Addicted to Media

Does going a day without a cell phone (no texting!), a computer, any Internet access, an MP3 player, or a TV sound like torture to you?

You’re not alone. 200 college students from Maryland took part in a study where they abstained from media use for 24 hours. The result? Complaints in the same language used by drug addicts to describe withdrawal.

  • Taxi driving is noble. Taxi drivers are not.

A strong feeling of pride rushed through me as I was leaving the supermarket – I had somehow managed to purchase two weeks worth of groceries totalling to $85, a figure that was well under my initial shopping budget. For someone that is attracted to spending senselessly on useless items when shopping (one time, I spent $140 on just one week’s worth of food – but it wasn’t my fault! The haloumi cheese, Loreal face-wash, and fresh mussels seduced me…. and maybe also the upscale, imported olive oil as well), this was by far a new personal record. But my feeling of accomplishment ceased the moment I exited the main doors of the building – suddenly I had six very large, very heavy bags of food to carry home.

It was 6pm and the rush hour just reached it’s peak; inside one of the bags laid a carton of ice lollies. After careful reasoning, I knew there was no bloody way I was taking the bus home with all this.

So I decided to take a taxi.

  • What Women Really Do in Restrooms

yesterday, i was asked the age old question:
what do women REALLY do when they use the restroom?

well… sort of. it was actually phrased like this:
why do women always feel the need to announce when they are going to the bathroom?

    my answer:
because we take so damn long! you see, half the time we aren’t even using the bathroom….

note: you might need to click to enlarge some of these teeny tiny pictures!  Continue reading

  • My 10 SHORT Role Models!

    “Tall is beautiful.”

I grew up with the media telling me that attractive was tall. However, I do not believe that is the case. Small can be pretty too! Height is not everything; that is why I wanted to compile a list of my favourite short (under 5’4″) actresses that have inspired me. It sucks that tall is seen as the ideal for women, but these celebrities prove themselves, despite their height. In making this list, I figured out that some of my favourite actresses happen to be short! Tall is overrated.
