  • We wish you a carnal Christmas and a bitter new year

Our plan has succeeded. The values we fought to remove from society are now gone. We freely go from one person to the next enjoying the carnal pleasures without the strings that have held so many previous generations down. We taunt each other with our bodies, we enjoy the friction of our skin against others.  Continue reading

  • Kissing Under Mistletoe

Kissing under the mistletoe is one of those *~romantic~* things that’s always mentioned at Christmas, but neither my friends nor I have ever done it. It seems like one of those novelty traditions that’s a little outdated. I do like the idea of having an extra reason to kiss, but standing under a plant is not a particularly good reason to make out, in my opinion. Continue reading

  • The 5 Romantic Kisses I Want to Experience

I am a hopeless romantic… it’s an undeniable fact. I’m all for handwritten love letters, cute little surprises, moderate amounts of PDA, and those borderline crazy, desperately in love, I-can’t-live-without-you scenes that DON’T only happen in movies.

That being said, I’d like to share the 5 (very cliche, but also very romantic) kisses that I daydream about sharing with my future husband. Continue reading

  • Holding Hands – Part 1

Holding hands can be a really big deal, if handled properly, and I think it should be a really big deal. Who doesn’t remember those first dates, you know the ones, when you really imagine that you like somebody, but you don’t know for sure because [of course] touch matters so much… and what can you really know without first experiencing that?  So, maybe the two of you go to a movie, and maybe you’re the yin energy or the female energy, and so you make sure that your hand is available to be held…does anybody remember this? Or maybe a shoulder brush with an available hand (and quite the opposite, I can remember being in a movie with someone I didn’t like that way, and my hand was never on that hand rest, in fact I think I might have put my hand on the opposite hand rest if it didn’t look so ridiculous, or at any rate wedged firmly between my knees or cupping a freezing cold beverage!)

But, assuming you are romantically interested in this person, so very much can be determined by how this yang energy person (or, for the purposes of purely heterosexual couplings, and for simplicity, let’s just call it the male) goes about this hand holding business. Continue reading

  • Why It Costs More To Be a Woman

Women are typically charged more than men for essentially the same products.

Women-targeted products, such as lotion, shampoo, razors, and so on, can cost as much as 50% more than their male or unisex equivalents, according to Consumer Reports. Occasionally the ingredients differ slightly to include special lotions or scents, but it’s rarely enough to justify the markup. Most manufacturers realize that women are often the key purchasers in a household, so they are sometimes willing to spend more on themselves.

But the higher prices are not limited to everyday products: Continue reading

  • Merry Christmas?

I am quite fond of Christmas. It’s a season for family and friends and fantastic food. I love the lights and the cool weather. The promise of snow and an excuse to drink hot chocolate is always a wonderful way to bring a smile to my face.

However, there is an ugly side to the holidays. Continue reading

  • ElectricMovies Review: James Cameron’s “Avatar”

I now know exactly what the audiences back in 1929 must have felt like when they saw “The Jazz Singer” for the first time and experienced a “talking picture” after nothing but silents. I saw James Cameron’s “Avatar” over the weekend. We need to invent a new word to describe this kind of motion picture. A “movie” or “film” just doesn’t describe it at all.

  • Are You Worth More than Minimum Wage?

I’ve had many jobs. I can’t even remember some of the jobs I’ve had. One year I had 7 W-4′s come in the mail, plus I had some under the table tutoring gigs that I didn’t account for.

There have been times where I would get paid and all my money went straight to bills and I’d barely have anything left over for food/gas/whatever. I’d think to myself “I’m worth more than what they are paying me.”

    I was wrong. Continue reading

  • 4 Steps To Mending A Broken Heart

Do you ever wonder why it hurts so much when love is lost?

The art of romance is to give your heart without fear.  When it breaks, you become lost with only pieces that remain.  It’s a journey of rediscovery and reassembly, as your hands bleed with each piece.

To mend a broken heart is a process of healing, while emotional wounds are akin to physical.  Some say it’s best to keep busy, but at the end, the hurt remains.  Rid the poisons that linger, instead of using a temporary fix.  It’s about standing tall, even when the world crumbles before your eyes.

    Step One

Cut all forms of communication.  It gives a sense of connection, and getting over requires its removal. Continue reading
