New Year’s Resolutions
2010 is creeping up on us, and contrary to popular belief, we are starting a new decade!! Do you know what that means? That means that our “New Year’s Resolutions” have to be EXTRA SPECIAL!
For me, I’d like to accomplish many things during the year of 2010. For example, I’d very much like to pass junior year with at least a 4.0 GPA. On that note, I’d also like to fall in love with someone who isn’t a celebrity, a teacher, nor someone over the legal drinking age. Is that really too much to ask for?
At least I can dream, right?
ANYWAYS we’re talking about RESOLUTIONS here, and according to Wikipedia, a resolution is a commitment that an individual makes or the reforming of a habit, often a lifestyle change that is generally interpreted as advantageous.
Therefore, my personal resolutions for the new year are:
Be independent. Not just physically independent, but also mentally and emotionally independent, because I am swayed very easily by other’s opinions and I unfortunately rely heavily on what other people think of me. Yes, that has definitely got to go.
Be healthier. This means no more chocolate!
Be more aggressive. I’m extremely passive, and I become passive-aggressive when provoked. My passive-aggressiveness is a stupid defense mechanism that I use to defend myself against God knows what.
Lower my tolerance level. I know that being tolerant is perceived as a good trait…but I’ve reached the point where my somewhat high tolerance turns into making excuses for things people do that really shouldn’t be tolerated in the first place.
Gain confidence/get rid of insecurities. Ohhh insecurities. Sometimes it feels as if I collect insecurities just for fun, you know. But in reality it’s not so fun. Low confidence negatively effects life in general, and since life is already difficult as it is, why put yourself through this insecurity crap?
This year ends in less than 10 days…Do you have any resolutions, goals, or plans for 2010?
